5 week short courses
My short courses have a strong focus on individual guidance to allow you to develop your stitching at your own pace. They are tailored around projects normally taught as weekend workshops but with the luxury of being spread out over a 5 week period, giving you time to focus on one thing at a time.
Each 5 week block focuses on a different technique or style of embroidery and provides you with a methodical, hands-on approach to the technique or style of embroidery of your chosen course.

Raised Embroidery - Introduction to Raised Embroidery (Stumpwork)

Have you ever wondered how to create dimensional embroidery?
Also known as Stumpwork, Raised embroidery is an intriguing and fun style of embroidery that offers you the opportunity to create embossed and 3-dimensional effects using a variety of stitches and special techniques. In this class you will learn a some of the basic raised embroidery techniques such as wired leaves and wings, basic picots, and different ways to use padding to create highly raised areas. You will have a choice of two kits: 'Sweet Honeysuckle' (easy) or 'Persian Bounty' (intermediate)
This course is taught over five, weekly, 2.5 hour sessions.

TERM THREE
5 weeks, 13 Feb - 13 March
Beyond Backstitch - Foundation for General Surface Embroidery
|
Designed with the Beginner in mind, this 5 week course offers more than the basics.
During the class we will use 12 of the most common embroidery stitches to embroider a small floral design. You will learn how to use the stitches in different ways and I will share HINTS & TIPS on how to get the best result from your stitching. I have a choice of kits available for you to choose from, or you may choose to learn, play and practice on a 'doodle' cloth' or sampler.
This course is taught over five, weekly, 2.5 hour sessions.
