Embroidery Studio diary
Life in Stitches
You can find articles about inspiration & ideas for embroidery, experiments, and sometimes mishaps. The Journal is a constant work in progress with sneak peeks into my world and the creative (sometimes chaotic) projects happening in The Studio.
Colour Prompts
I have often thought how much fun it would be to stitch a series of small pieces - I think this year is the year.
This is how and why I plan to create a series of small pieces of art embroidery based on colour prompts from #coloricombo curated by Esté MacLeod. Week 1 is inpired by ancient rock art.
week One of 2025
Time flies when you are having fun. I have had the most amazing break, said ‘So Long’ to 2024 and made a start on 2025 in the best way possible.

It Starts with an idea…
To start a new Journal, I built and moved my whole website. - I must be nuts! I have so many, much more exciting things I need to do. But it feels right now that it is done.
Crewel Work Reflections
I wanted to finish my crewel embroidery inspired by William Morris within a week since my last post (3 weeks ago) and I did - Well almost....
Now where was I...????
I rarely tend to make notes or stitch plans in advance, but this time I really wish I had!
Some Crewel progress
I find that when embroidering mirror image designs, I always get a better result when I stitch both sides roughly at the same time... if I (as I would like) move on to something else and then come back to it days or weeks later - I am less likely to get the pair looking the same.
