Flowers for Ellaine is embroidered with fine, hand dyed, shaded crewel yarns onto linen fabric using mostly common embroidery stitches. The needle book has wool felt pages and 4 pockets to hold plenty of needles and pins. Both items are lined and back with complementary Liberty print fabrics.

Flowers for Ellaine is a great project if you are confident with basic embroidery stitches, have a little experience or are are new to crewel work.
The needle book and scissor case are decorated with flowers and foliage inspired by traditional crewel embroidery. The design was created to compliment a pincushion publised in The Design Collection, Pincushions. I named it Flowers for Ellaine for a dear friend of mine, who wears red like nobody else I know can.
