Silk Embroidery Kit
The embroidery design measures 18.5cm (7 1/4") square.
Pomegranate & Rose features a stylized arrangement of flowers and pomegranates. The embroidery is stitched onto Thai silk with stranded silk threads and a variety of gilt metal threads. The metal threads create an elegant textural contrast to the silk embroidery and add depth and interest to the floral design.
The embroidery kit includes everything you need to complete the embroidery.
You can choose between the Standard Kit which includes the full size pattern for you to transfer OR the Traced Kit where I will trace the design onto the silk for you.

I recommend Pomegranate & Rose for embroiderers with some experience in fine embroidery and basic knowledge of metal thread embroidery. Most of the stitches used for Pomegranate & Rose are common embroidery stitches and simple goldwork techniques.
As inspiration for the design Pomegranate & Rose I looked at the wonderful embroidery seen on men’s costume from the late 18th century. At that time, colorful embroidery stitched in fine silk and metal threads was used to embellish jackets and vests.
The embroidery is stitced in a fresh colour pallet of cornflower blue, ivory and coral red silk threads to embroider the flowers and pomegranates to achieve a contemporary look. The metal threads form the heart-shaped stems and shimmering highlights.
I created the design Pomegranate & Rose for Inspirations magazine as a celebration for issue 100 of the magazine.
